Ticket to Ride and Dom-

That's Ticket to Ride and the start of a game of Dominion this week.

With 2 less than expected this week, we fell back to a couple of classic games for the night's entertainment.

We started off with Ticket to Ride: Marklin Edition, although with 2 newcomers and a late start we decided not to use the passengers for this game.
After taking an early lead on the first turn (having been dealt a single colour hand) I (Geoff) the stalled for some time as I waited for the right cards to turn up. Following that, Robin went on a bit of a building spree, shortly followed by Pete and Tony.

Part way through and the game was looking pretty close with everyone, except me, with a similar score and many routes on the map. However, I was holding a huge hand of cards and everyone knew I was just waiting for the right moment.

Just as Pete and Robin were starting to look at new tickets I started building my routes, finally completing an impressive North-South line with 5 routes. At this point I had jumped into the lead, but by hugging the edges I had limited my ability to complete any additional tickets I may pick up. In contrast the others were dispersed throughout the central areas and well placed to branch out to the stations they may need.

As the supply of trains ran low, Pete, Robin and myself were risking the extra tickets while Tony was building for points. Suddenly, Tony was down to his last few trains and Pete and I realised that with only one turn remaining, we could not complete our last tickets.

In the final count, Tony had completed all three of his tickets, Pete completed 5 (and took the bonus points) and failed to complete one, Robin finished all 4 of his and I completed all 3 of my long routes, but none of my 2 short routes.

Final Rankings (I hope I get it right this time [I didn't. It has now been corrected]):
  1. Geoff
  2. Robin
  3. Tony
  4. Pete
With only 30 mins remaining, we introduced Tony to Dominion. Unfortunately, due to the lack of time, things were only just getting interesting when it ended.

Final Rankings (Pretty sure I didn't get this right, so expect an update):
  1. Robin
  2. Pete
  3. Tony
  4. Geoff
